I Wait in Expectation

Bible Reading:
Psalms of the Troubled Soul Psalm 5; 6; 7; 10; 11

"In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation" (5:3).

Each time I lay my requests before the Lord, I wait in expectation. When I expect him to answer according to my own plan, I am often disappointed and disillusioned. When I expect to see the goodness of the Lord, however, he does not disappoint. I am grateful that he always answers my prayers according to his divine wisdom and unfailing love, not according to my human desires and limited perspective. I can start each day in prayer, expecting him to hear my voice and take action on my behalf. Because his way is best, I wait in confident expectation, hoping and rejoicing in my God.
