God is Doing a New Thing!

Bible Reading: Isaiah 43:8-28; 44; 45:1-13

"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland" (43:18-19).

GOD IS DOING A NEW THING! It's more exciting than anything you could ever imagine! Do you see it? Does it make you want to jump up and dance and shout?! (I would if I knew how to dance!) Don't dwell on the past, but rejoice over the new thing he's doing in your life! As you walk through the path he is forming in your desert, look at all the blessings springing up around you as he waters your wasteland. Rejoice in the new thing he is doing!

"I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things" (45:7).

Lord, when you bring prosperity and sunshine into my life, don't let me forget that it came from you; may I rejoice in you and use my prosperity for your glory. Show me how I can spread joy and laughter to those around me and share with them the abundance of my blessings. When you create disaster and darkness in my life, may I still rejoice in you, my sovereign Lord, and yield to your purpose and design. Give me the faith to reach up and take hold of your hand so you can lead me through the darkness and teach me your ways. Open my eyes to the new thing you are doing in my life as it begins to spring up along the way.
